Why O2Zero® oxygen absorber get warm / hot?

It's normal & fine. No Worries.

Oxygen absorbers are small packets that contain iron powder and other ingredients that react with oxygen to remove it from a sealed environment, such as food packaging. When the iron powder in the oxygen absorber reacts with oxygen, it undergoes a process called oxidation, which releases heat energy.

This heat energy is then transferred to the oxygen absorber packet, causing it to warm up. The amount of heat generated depends on the amount of oxygen being absorbed and the size of the oxygen absorber packet.

It's important to note that the heat generated by an oxygen absorber is typically not enough to cause any harm or damage to the food packaging or its contents. In fact, the heat can actually help to create a more stable and fresher environment for the food by reducing the amount of oxygen present, which can slow down the growth of bacteria and mold.
